How to Use Usability Agent
Usability Agent is designed to be simple, intuitive, and effective. Follow these steps to evaluate your website from the perspective of your target audience:
1. Open the Usability Agent Plugin
Once you've installed Usability Agent on your Chrome browser, navigate to your website and click on the Usability Agent icon in your toolbar to open the plugin.
2. Define Your Persona
In the “Agent Persona” field, type a brief description of the type of user you want to simulate. For example:
“A male office worker aged 28”
“A parent shopping for kids’ clothes”
“A senior citizen exploring online health resources”
This step helps Usability Agent understand the characteristics and needs of your target audience.
3. Set the Task
In the “Agent Task” field, specify the action you want the persona to perform on your website. For example:
“Book a demo”
“Find technical support”
“Complete a purchase”
By defining the task, you can test how easy it is for a specific user type to achieve a goal on your site.
4. Click ‘Get Insights’
Once you've defined the persona and task, click the “Get Insights” button. Usability Agent will analyze your website from the perspective of the specified user and provide actionable feedback.
5. Review the Results
Usability Agent generates a detailed report highlighting potential usability issues, such as:
Navigation challenges
Confusing layout or design elements
Accessibility barriers
Recommendations for improvement
Use this feedback to optimize your website for your target audience.
6. Iterate and Test Again
Refine your website based on the insights provided, then test it again with new personas or tasks. Usability Agent makes it easy to perform continuous usability testing throughout your website development process.
